Community rules
Tags
Claim a wave only if you are the person in it. Photographers approve or decline every request, and a pattern of false claims removes your ability to make them.
Photographers: approve tags in good faith. A tag is how a surfer finds their own photograph, and sitting on requests hurts your sales more than it hurts them.
Messages
Messages exist so surfers and photographers can talk about sessions and bookings. No unsolicited promotion, no sending people off-platform to dodge fees, no repeated contact after someone has stopped replying. Anyone can turn messages off in settings.
Uploads
Post your own work. Post real surf photography — the direction is real water, real surfers, real photographers. No stock, no AI-generated surf imagery, no images of anyone who has asked not to be shown.
Do not upload photographs of children without a parent's consent, and never with location detail that could identify a school or routine.
Pricing
Price your work how you like. Do not use fake scarcity, fake discounts, or list a clip you cannot deliver.
What ends an account
Circumventing the paywall or stripping watermarks. Reselling other people's images. Harassment. Payment fraud.
Uploading work you didn't shoot follows a three-strike rule: each upheld report takes the clip down and records a strike, strikes stay active for 12 months, and three active strikes suspends the account automatically. Use "Report this clip" on any clip page to flag it.
Reporting
Report anything through the message thread or to nick@getclipya.com. We read all of it.
